I sat there,
The cold steel chair,
Reinforcing the fear in my heart.
I turned left,
Emptiness.
I turned right,
Silence.
I looked down at my hand,
Absence.
I closed my eyes,
And let myself escape,
Into the reverie,
That I constantly denied myself.
I saw your hands,
Their pink soft glow,
Nails trimmed to the bone.
I felt you take,
My hand in yours.
In that moment,
Weight that I had carried,
For eons, dissipated,
And relaxed my shoulders.
And just like that,
Nothing was scary any more.
No mountain unconquerable,
No storm too strong,
No night too dark,
As I felt your love,
Illuminate the dark fields.
