T, Mi Amor,

It’s 6:52 pm. The metro just jolted as it started on its journey on the yellow line . It’s going to be about 90 minutes before I’m back… well I can’t call it home. But I’ll just say – back to the place where I lay down now.

Whenever I drop you and go back, I plug into our playlist. And it just shuffles on repeat throughout my lonesome journey back home. And just like that it isn’t so lonesome anymore because I think of you.

It started today with – two more years and you’ll be done with school and I’ll be making history… and I think I could so relate to this right now because it’s like that penultimate lap. Before the beginning of our time in the sun. The one which will last a lifetime. And I think that’s why I love this song. Because it reminds me of something – love transcends all.

That’s why I know. That we will make it. Because of the look in your eyes when you’re with me. And how it makes me feel when I’m with you.

You know Walter had shared this reel back when I was on Insta. It said these are the three cardinal rules of living :

Surround yourself with people whose eyes light up when they see you.

Slowly is the fastest way to get to where you want to.

The top of one mountain is the bottom of the next. So keep climbing.

And I used to think if I would ever get to live out number 1. But I don’t need to wonder any more. Cause in that stolen glance today when you peeked into the park I saw how you lit up.

You know I fell for your eyes? Cause they are the only part of the human body that never changes from birth to death. And they have everything you need to know about anyone.

And when I saw your eyes for the first time, I saw how tired you were. Tired of having to keep trying. And I know the angst behind that feeling. I’ve lived it far too long. And I’m just glad I’m the one who gets to light them up. To make it just a little bit easier that it makes it all worth it.

You asked me why I love you today. And I quote to you from my all time favourite song. The song that when I first heard, I reserved for “The One”. That’s you.
